What's Happening in our School?

Please be aware of upcoming Council Roadworks occuring in mid-May along Potters Road.

Please see attached notice from Bundaberg Regional Council about upcoming roadworks on Potter's Road. The Council was unable to confirm which day this resurfacing is occurring but it is likely to be next week and it will likely disrupt access to our school carpark when it is occurring. Council will manage traffic control and access to our site but please be aware of potential delays.

On April 24th we held our annual whole school ANZAC parade. We were honoured to welcome special guests Mrs Pat Williamson from Bundaberg Lions and Ms Sonya Leijen from Bundaberg RSL who assisted us during this ceremony. Mrs Williamson also presented us with a special addition to our school library, a book about Afghanistan which will help our students better understand our ANZAC involvement and legacy.

Mr Cahill, our music and choir teacher, led our choir in a beautiful ANZAC song that he composed "Can you Hear the Children Marching?'. The choir also led our whole school in singing the New Zealand and Australian
National Anthems.

Our students and teachers created and laid down wreaths as part of our ceremony which were then transported to our Flagpole as a mark of respect as they lay under the Australian flag on this special  day.

Students and families are welcome to attend our school group in marching in the ANZAC day Bargara dawn service on April 25th. If students wish to participate, please assemble with school staff from 5am at the Liberty Service Station at Bargara. The march is expected to start at 5.30am and parents may collect their children from school staff at the closure of the service.

QLD BULLS Masters Coach our Future Cricket Stars!
Friday March 1st, the QLD Bulls Cricket Masters came to Bargara State School to run a cricket coaching clinic for some of our cricket loving kids. Approximately 40 students were  fortunate enough to participate in a cricket coaching clinic where they engaged in cricket drills, skills and activities to help hone their cricket skills and expertise! They also had the chance to get autographs and photos with the cricket stars on the day!
The smiles and enthusiasm were fantastic to see and we are grateful to the Bulls Masters team for taking the time to inspire and coach our future cricket stars! Thank you from the whole Bargara community!

One of our Mums had this to say: I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all who were involved in organising the Bulls masters to visit our school today.  It was fabulous that not only the older children were invited, for the others that were included it truly meant so much. Bargara state school has quite a large number of students that are involved in cricket in the wider community and if any of you are cricketing families you will understand what fanatics they all become of the Queensland and Australian teams. I was smiling watching from the sideline, the whole group of kids showed so much enthusiasm and effort and did us all proud as a school. Thank you once again, it is moments like these in our young children’s schooling life that will stick with them for many years to come. From a mother of two cricket mad boys
